RFID I/O Compact Module for Ethercat

02/16 – Turck is now offering a robust IP67 module of the BL compact series for its BL ident RFID system, which enables the connection of Ethercat master systems

Mülheim, March 15, 2016

Premiered at this year's Hannover Messe is Turck's new BL compact RFID module with an Ethercat interface. The robust IP67 I/O module enables the BL ident RFID system to be connected directly to Ethercat master systems. In this way, the controller can read out and process large data sets from the BL ident system. This is executed with acyclic services so that data is always available in the controller at the right time and time-critical and decision-critical data can be processed in real-time. For this Turck provides standard function blocks which are processed in the controller and thus simplify the integration of the RFID system in the system landscape of the user.

With 16 Kbytes of memory per channel the BL compact module provides a sufficiently large memory for processing even large data volumes. Read and write commands can also be saved directly in the module to shorten the reaction time and increase processing speed. This makes it possible for the system to respond more quickly to the application.

Like all BL ident modules, the new system also allows the parallel operation of read/write heads in HF and UHF. This gives the user greater flexibility and the choice of the basic RFID technology used to be defined by the application.
