Turck's “Universal Module”: 8 IO-Link class A ports or up to 16 DXP channels guarantee users a high level of flexibility

Flexible IO-Link Class A Master

06/23 – Turck's TBEN-L-8IOLA improves cost efficiency in typical IO-Link applications for complex sensor systems and terminal devices

Mülheim, April 5, 2023

Turck has added the TBEN-L-8IOLA class A IO-Link master to its IO-Link portfolio. The Ethernet block I/O module with the robust TBEN-L housing provides eight class A IO-Link master ports. Class A ports are preferred for connecting smart sensors since their digital channels and voltage level are clearly separated. Each of the eight female connectors provide two universal DXP channels, which can alternatively be used as an input or output – so that the universal module offers up to 16 channels. The 2A current carrying capacity on pin 2 of all ports also enables the supply of actuators with increased power requirements.

As a Turck multiprotocol device, the new master can be used in Ethernet networks with Profinet, Ethernet/IP or Modbus TCP without any intervention by the user. Other multiprotocol features are integrated, such as a switch for linear topologies as well as a web server. Like all other Turck IO-Link masters of the TBEN series, this module also features SIDI Simple IO-Link Device Integration as well as the IODD Configurator in the web interface.

The Ethernet block I/O module is available in two variants: with L-coded M12 connectors or 7/8″ 4-pin round connectors. With a temperature range of -40 to 70 °C and with protection to IP67 and IP69K, the new I/O module is also perfectly suited for harsh environments.
